Hi!

Since I added an extra SSD, it can not charge my iPad anymore on my iMac 2011. It is saying: Not Charging.

It is because my iMac need too much juice with the extra drive that it does not let it charge it anymore like before?

Thank you!

Sorry cannot help you, just wanted to add that you are not alone. Mine doesn't charge neither. It never has through USB. Thought this was standard for all iPads because they need lots of juice for their battery. I use the charger. For reference, I have a 64gb 3G+WiFi iPad 2.

Did your Mac actually charge through USB before?

Have you tried another port? You'll find some share power often paired.

I speak for the OP (which can be wrong) but since I have the same issue I assume it syncs with iTunes, otherwise he would have said it doesn't, the only issue is that it is not charged, and it even says so on the iPad (next to the battery icon).

You were right!!! Thank you!!! :)

Indeed, I switched the order the USB were plugged on the back of the mac and now it's working perfectly! Great!
