iTunes match, keep or delete file?

In order to "match", I noticed I need to delete the song.

First it asks, "Are you sure you want to delete the song".. I click YES
then it asks, do you want to move it to iTunes Media Folder, or move to trash.

If I choose "move to iTunes media folder", doesn't that add a duplicate copy of the song? I am running low on hard drive space, so my only option is moving to the trash and emptying the trash. Is this what you guys do? Help?
