After reading through the MBP forums and seeing graphic designers/web designers having issues with scaling and the retina display I think I will pass on the RMBP. I currently have a 2010 15" MBP. Is the video card upgradable? I know the HD and Ram are the only upgrades done with ease but can a skilled professional successfully upgrade a video card along with maybe more dedicated ram?

Thanks in advance for any replys

"Technically"

Technically, you can swap out the GPU in certain PC's (Alienware, Asus, Clevo maybe?) etc as they are not soldered into the main board.

Of course, doing so might still require fabrication. In addition, you are limited to a VERY VERY narrow range of GPUs and there's no real aftermarket to purchase them except off eBay. As you can imagine, it's ridiculously expensive in addition to being convoluted.

Technically, you can upgrade the GPU in a couple laptops. Practically speaking, doing so in any production laptop is so expensive and labor intensive that it makes almost absolutely no sense to do so.

Why? If people can't be bothered to search then they wouldn't read a sticky.

true but an attempt by the mods would be nice.. most forums I'm a part of you have a welcome email that informs and urges you to please read certain stickies.
