How would you make simple widgets that would just display a word or a phrase that you choose?

Is it easy?

On my iPhone I want to have different pages and each page says what the name of the category is in big white letters on top left corner. Sort of like how you can do it in geek tool with your macbook.

Does any1 get what Im saying? Sort of like a title of the page.

edit:

also how do you add widgets that tell you the date and time?

ex: http://i1151.photobucket.com/albums/o628/norcal415/f9e44e29.png

doesn't have to be in the format "today is x day of y month and its ##:##" could be simple format but i can't find the widget for that either

I haven't gotten too much into the guts of theme making, so my advice would be to download a theme that contains a widget and then customize it.
Sound easy? It probably it because last time I checked widgets where nothing more than HTML pages, so...
