Hi, my macbook pro was working fine until one day that i tried to clean my keyboard, i bought this cleaning foam that was supposed to clean without any damage but it was a big mistake, my question mark and foward slash key stoped working...

So i ordered a keyboard from amazon and had my friend install it, everything seemed to work fine, question mark/ forward slash started to work again but i just found out that the backlight dosent...

I have a checkmark on my "illuminate keyboard in low light conditions'' in my keyboard settings but still dont see it works...

Could it be that something was damaged during the keyboard installation or could this be a fixable thing without having to open and reconecting stuff again?

sounds like you didnt connect the cable for the LED light, it usually a seperate cable, on my santa rosa MBP it was a little tiny 4 pin connector that plugged into the main ribbon cable
