I currently have an old G-Drive Mobile with FireWire 800/400 & USB2.0 as my TimeMachine backup.

Problem is that I not long ago upgraded it from 320GB to 500GB and the new drive make quite a lot of noise...
Not actual noise to be worried about, just buzzing that gets pretty annoying whenever it is doing it's thing.

Also it's occupying the only FW800 port I have, bit problematic as I have another FW800 drive I also want to access from time to time...

That's why I am now looking for a more low noise drive that can daisy chain FW800!!

Have been looking at the WD Passport Studio (the black one) or the Lacie d2 Quadra - wich one is the most low noise or is there any better?

It can not be taller than my :apple: Mac Mini as it have to fit in next to it in a Sonnet MacRack mini mount.
