What's the best way to allow your laptop to stay on over night without the computer actually going to sleep and turning off? I got this last year and I'm so afraid to mess with the system preferences they've set for the device. I want to ask before I do anything to it.

(I've never touched any of the power settings at all)

So far on my macbook Pro i have:

Apps are:
- Growl.
- Package Tracker/Tracking (both).
- Tweeter.
- Weibr (Chinese Tweeter).
- MSN Messenger.
- Mint Quickview (for Bank Statements).

5 games
Batman Arkham Asylum
MC Domination
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas
Red Crucible 2
Frontline Commando

Other than those, I have some documents folder from school, pictures taken for the family and music/movies on iTunes.

I do backup and time machine as well.

So in case I confused someone with my post um, all I'm asking is how do I keep my laptop on running without losing a lot battery life? I've read the battery life paragraph but I just need someone walk me through this or tell me what to do : )

Of course, just drag the cursor back to what ever time you want it to go to sleep.

There is also settings for display to go to sleep, and Mac going to sleep.
Im guessing you dont want your Mac to go to sleep.

In these past few weeks I've heard nothing good about this App and I see how much of a benefit it is for many of the users. I still don't see why anyone would use it, like I'm asking not in terms of the app but the concept. Why would anyone want to keep their computer running constantly?

I use it because during the day when I'm working I don't want my screen dimming every second because I'm reading off of it or not touching it. With one click I can turn it off when I get home instead of adjusting settings in the preference pan. It's not to leave it on intentionally while I'm away.
