I talked to the Verizon guy and he said "we'd" have to go into the store and figure it out. I just bought this from a reputable seller on Ebay and he didn't deactivate it. Is there anyway I can do it myself? Or is it like strictly bound to the Verizon account.

Thanks

Return the iphone if you can

Soon with the next gen iphone comming out the market will be swamped with used iphone4. So i would expect the seller to at least sell a isable - no hassle phone

It's still connected I think.
When's the new iphone estimated to come out?
Fall?
So then I could just purchase a cheap iphone 4 then? this is just an iphone 4 not even 4s and I paid 240$

When I sold my VZW iphone it didnt deactivate till the end of my billing cycle its a CDMA weakness thats what I was told by verizon anyway

What do u mean you don't know if it can make calls. "it's still connected I think" sounds just weird to me. YOU have the phone. Is it connected and working or not?? Simple question.

Maybe it's connecting via WIFI but the actual phone is not working.

It show's it's connected.
Idk \I thought it wouldn't be possible for it to still be on if the person is selling the phone.

Makes me smile when reading the seems to be standard reply of don't buy a 4 or 4s because the 5/new iPhone is due out. Advice based on what ? speculation , rumour and Chinese whispers exist regarding the next iPhone.

We know not of what's under its hood or how it looks aesthetically or when it will definitely be released.

If one waited to see what's out new around the corner then one would actually never make a purchase at all.

In the Uk iPhones hold their price very well and thus selling your 3 gs/4/4s will generate a decent amount of cash to fund your next iPhone purchase, and allow someone further down the chain to own a great device.

So does anyone know if I can wipe the phone somehow or hook it up under my number or does that have to be done through Verizon?

I went to an Apple store to trade out my iPhone 4 which didn't work right. They wiped my old iPhone 4 and activated my new iPhone 4 in the store.

I should note I'm on AT&T, not Verizon though.
