Hook up Macbook Air on an older Cinema Display?

Hi.

Is it possible to hook up a Macbook Air 2012 to an older LCD Cinema Display? (2007 model, non-glossy, with Firewire 400 and USB 2)

Will the USB2 of the Display somehow slow down the other USB3 port? I want to connect my keyboard, mouse and sound card over the display.

What about Firewire? Can I still use it? :confused:
