Hi,

I was changing the screen on the ipod and when i was taking off the metal shielding I saw some smoke. I continued with the replacement. The ipod is still functioning. it connects to itunes and i turn on voiceover and it will let me shut down. I can see a very faint image on the LCD. I thought the motherboard was fried but now i'm not sure. Anyone have any ideas of what it could be. Must be something LCD related

My friend, you have big problem. After check it you can not be sure that the problem is in mother board in iPhone. When you connect the cable to your mobile device, the problem might be in your charging port connected to your mother board. So, send it to in apple store or service station and check out the charging port connection.
