Hi if I ever needed to take my RMBP to get it repaired by apple and my user account had a password would they be able to bypass it and get in and possibly mess up my programs by accident.

They're not going to "mess up" your programs. They're only going to do whatever is necessary to fix your problem. Make a backup of your drive before you take it in.

Well from previous experience I know that they don't know much.
 
They will likely need to have access to a user account to confirm the issue is resolved.
