Another vote for the Samsung 830 series. Fantastic SSD that is very reliable and has great read/write speeds. As a side note, Apple is using Samsung drives/controllers in the current MBP's. Nothing against the Crucial M4, I just personally feel the Samsung is a better choice.

I have that Crucial drive in my early 2011 MBP and it's been great. I actually am waiting on delivery of another one to put into hubby's 2008 MBP. $179 is a great price for it right now, too. I'd say go for it.

I just did. :) Now when it comes to installing, do I need to remove that nib in the battery? the connector? I don't even know what to use to possibly remove that small connector. The spatula thing?

There are tons of YouTube videos on how to do this. All you need is a screwdriver set that also includes torx heads. No other tools are needed.

Yeah, I was watching the stuff on OWC. Do I need any firmwares on the drive or is it okay if I just use my CCC'd stuff on my external?
