Odd question...but my 2012 Air can't see my 2008 iMac for Air Drop...yet the 2008 iMac can see the 2012 Air. Anyone know why this might be? Both are running Mountain Lion and the only odd thing I can think of is the iMac is plugged directly into the Wireless Router while the Air is WIFi. I thought this might be the reason why, but how can the iMac see the Air? (same issue with my Wife's 2011 Air).

If I remember correctly, the 2008 iMac does not support AirDrop but there was some kind of terminal command to enable it anyway.

Which, IIRC, I did when I installed Lion.

But how can the Air not seen the iMac but the iMac can see the Air?

defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser BrowseAllInterfaces 1

I had to run this command on both computers in Lion. Maybe you have to do it again after installing ML, I'm just guessing.

In my limited testing I was not able to get it to work with devices that were connected through ethernet. Can you use wireless on the iMac to test if it will work?
