MBA and Iphoto keyboard shortcut no longer works in iphoto

I have a small but annoying problem with iPhoto 11.
Recently my most-used Keyboard Shortcut for Batch Change ( the default CMD+Shift+B ) no longer works.
I can use the mouse to activitate it but not the keyboard.
I have tried making a bespoke shortcut using the keyboard applet -with the original shortcut and a variation of others but nothing works.
I uninstalled iPhoto using AppDelete and installed the latest ver but no good.
I don't have another user profile in my MBA.
I am thinking that another app is using a similar shortcut but how to track it down.

Can nobody help ?

Is there nobody able to suggest a solution for me or perhaps a workaround ?
I would move over to Picasa except for photostream.
