Ok, so I've gone through a bunch of the threads and heard varying stories from "ML fixed my laptop lag and my relationship!" to "ML is laggier than Lion and I shall return to using my Windows NT".

Does anyone with technical knowledge have evidence suggesting that the issue is software based and CAN be fixed with time?

Similarly, is there any evidence that the issue is hardware based and won't be fixed until the next revision? ("Because anandtech said so!" isn't a legit argument)

Please, no hope/fan love/hate based reasoning here. Thanks in advance to anyone who knows what they're talking about.

My point of view.

This is one reason why I'm waiting for the second revision of the rMBP or the rumoured 13" rMBP in October which they would hopefully of resolved the issue by then! If not I reckon it's a hardware based issue as they would have plenty of time to make a patch now that their resources are mainly freed up from developing ML......well that's my opinion
