Is there any possibility that Apple will up the display size on the upcoming base iMac's (21.5")?

It would be nice to have 23" or 24" as the base size as 21.5" seems to be becoming a little restrictive. Additionally, panel prices have dropped considerably since this generation was launched.

I think 21.5" is a great base size personally. The 24" iMacs are bigger than a lot of people would want.. They're very conspicuous!

23/24 could be nice if they lost the bezel though maybe?

most people felt that a 21 is too small and 27 too big, I think if they made just one something like 23.5" with Retina would be perfect

the 21" outsells the 27" by a lot.

also we might see a Retina version iMac alongside older models, same with what happend with MBP.

As long as 27" or larger is still an option, I'll be happy. One of the main reasons I'm planning to purchase is the big, beautiful display. The 21.5 (and I use or look at both at work almost every day) looks less sharp, and because it's smaller, is less immersive to me.

The reason why Apple would not use 24" displays is quite obvious, because to stretch the current resolution 1920x1080 on a larger display is going to look ugly. Even the current dpi is quite low. They'd have to increase the resolution to keep the current dpi, which would create a non-standard resolution. A lot of bother for something that's not really even needed in my opinion. If people want more screen space, they can just get the awesome 27" 2560x1440 iMac.
