Is that true? I believe the next iPhone will have more than 50% extra battery life compared to the other iPhones. So A6 quad core is possible :D

They better have a HUGE battery inside the next iPhone.

In addition to a bigger screen (the biggest battery sucker of anything), you also will have a faster processor + LTE.

Those 3 can add up to a lethal battery combination if you don't have enough mAh.

Nah here are what I think the battery stats will be.

8 hours 3G talk time.
6 hours 4G LTE browsing
8 hours 3G browsing
10 hours wifi browsing
40 hours music
10 hours video

And 250 standby

The standby is still not what I would want (nor what we've had before) but the super power efficient wifi chips released earlier this year will probably not be used this year.

Yeah and in real world all of these durations will be halved like on 4S.

*Sigh* Ever heard of LTE?

Also, that'd be the A6 ARM Cortex A15 dual core you're talking about. Go look it up

As long as the battery life for it is much better then the 4S then I'll be happy. The battery life I'm getting is pathetic.

Apple filed a patent a while back in which the back light from the screen charged the phone. Obviously they won't be implementing that this gen, but if they can pull that off in the near future. Game over.

New ipad has 11,560 mAh
Iphone 4S has ~ 1450 mAh
Galaxy S3 has ~2100 mAh
New Iphone/iphone 5???

I would predict around 1700/1800 with that extra space(provided that the extra space would be all battery net of the possible thiness)

Anyone familiar with battery tech chime in here?

Taller would give you a larger battery, if you didn't also make the device thinner. Since the larger screen takes more juice, though, it's a wash.

Actually the iphone 5 (or whatever they decide to name it) will probably have worse battery life than the 4S. New LTE radio and a quad core processor in what is basically the same frame as the 4S = mediocre battery life.
