Just picked up a new HP 1740 monitor, and before anyone asks why, it is because I like the 4:3 format and the matt viewing surface, put that together with the price ($35) new in box so what's not to like.
I have it temporarily connected via VGA, (until I pick up a DVI cable) and the display settings are 1280x1024 refresh set to 60.
It seems to insist on lining up my icons away from the right screen side, as can be seen in the attached image.
The only way I can get them over to the right edge is if I set "arrange" to "none", whereas I've always had it set to "name".
Any ideas guys?

Think I've just solved my problem, tried the second DVI port on my G5 quad and now the icons are behaving themselves.

It may also be due to icon size & grid spacing.

Right click on the desktop and go into show view options - have a fiddle with that and see if that makes a difference.

I tried that to no avail, it has something to do with the 2 ports on my video card one being DVI and the other DVI/dual link whatever that means.
Anyhow all is well now.
