Hello everyone!,

I have a sr 2,2 Ghz 15" MBP (Summer '07), and as I understand that unofficially that they can take 6GB of RAM, I want to upgrade it. At the moment I reside in Germany and the only module under 100eur that I found is this one:

Do you think that it will be compatible with my laptop?. Also, I heard that although the RAM is bumped in 2GB, as the modules are not matched, the final result is not that great. Can anyone comment on that?.

Thanks!!!!

I would not risk upgrade to 6GB memory depending on what revision your logic board is.

Actually I have the model with the NVIDIA 8600GT card, and it has been replaced a couple of times… You are right, maybe is better not to risk it and only upgrade the battery/HD.

Thanks!!!

Yep, in theory I could upgrade the RAM, but with this problematic graphics card (google "8600GT problems"), maybe, just maybe it's not really worthy to risk a motherboard fail. I guess that I should look in how to install a SSD in a Mid '07 MBP.
