1) What happened to the hacks forum. I liked this forum since there were a lot of good answers there

2) What happened to the downvote system ( made it easier to see what others opinion of someone's comment was)

I feel this "only upvote system" is broken. It reminds me of what Digg tried to do when they tried getting rid of the bury button.

Any rating system is only ever useful if it has both positive and negative ratings ( same reason I wish facebook had a dislike button). When someone posts something intelligent/offensive it's great to be able to quickly add something to the conversation without adding a "me too" or "+1"
