Iphone 3GS in Budapest, Hungary (Prepaid questions)

I was wondering if anyone has any experience using an unlocked AT&T Iphone in Europe. I have been provided with a Telenor SIM card for an ancient Samsung. I'm hoping to get the 3GS running in europe with minuets and data, has anyone used Telenor before or have any advice for me?
