Hi all,

I have a 2007 MBP that I just had rebuilt. Needless to say, I lost all my settings. That is to say, I lost all my Bot Camp settings.

I'm running 99.9% in Win XP Pro, using CAD software. I seem to recall hunting for a video driver back a few years ago, and getting one that allowed the CAD software to function well. That said, I seemed to have lost it in the mix of backups.

Can someone recommend a really good video driver for this machine?

The video card is an NVIDIA geForce 8600M GT.

Also, is there any reason I can't simply load a video driver right into XP? Does it have to be via Boot Camp?

Thanks.

On the new retina MacBook Pro I guess people are having trouble installing the stock NVIDIA driver. I thought this was strange because in the past, I was able to just download the current available driver from NVIDIA and it would work. Go ahead and give it a try, just make sure you find the driver package that is for your graphics card.
