Im having trouble deciding which monitor to go with. I want to pick up a monitor to pair with an iMac and use in extended display. I dont want to pick up an ACD due to the lack of ports for expandability. I leaning toward the U3011 for the sheer size. But I want the fluidity of screen ratio between screens. U2711 is 16:9 and U3011 is 16:10, iMac is 16:9. Will I notice a big difference between screen ratio between the U3011 and iMac? Will I be able to set up the screens evenly where if I move windows between the screens theres no change in size? Hopefully this makes sense. LOL. I know there are a few folks with this set up here. Mind posting pics of your set up?

U2711 or U3011 with 27" iMac??

I like having two displays of the same size and resolution (27" iMac and ATD) because when I move windows between them, they stay the same size.
I used to have a 22" 1920z1080 Dell as my second display, but I didn't like how the windows would "expand" (since they took up more screen space on the lower resolution display). With a 30" display, the window width won't change (since both displays are 2560 pixels wide), but the height will (since the 30" display has more vertical pixels).

Thanks for the response CWallace. Yeah the 1920x1080 display to the 2560x1440 is a little extreme for me as well. I do get that vertically the 30" is larger but since the screen itself is larger doesnt that compensate for the stretch of the windows? I did read that there is a slight bump in pixel density in the u3011 vs u2711 but read its not really noticeable, if at all.
