Since I upgraded to 10.8 I've noticed that the Mail rules I have set run sporadicly at best but mostly must be forced to work.
I'm not power using rules so they aren't complicate. All my rules do is color code emails so that they are easily picked out for reading. However, 10.8 does seem to be able to handle even that simple task.
Normally when using Mail I have to select the emails and then apply the rule. Sometimes when I open mail some of the emails are color coded but some aren't. Sometimes none of them are. Switching from Mail to another program causes the rules to disappear at times, sometimes not.
Bottom line, Mail rules have been damaged in 10.8!
