With Mountain Lion, Apple made it even clearer that they're taking ideas from iOS devices and bringing them to the Mac. They even brought over some iOS native apps onto the Mac (Notes and Reminders).

I came to realize that iTunes didn't really fit into Apple's new philosophy of making apps more focussed instead of crammed with features. Why doesn't apple get rid of iTunes, in favor of separate Music, Videos, and Podcasts apps for the Mac? They could even make a separate iTunes Store app that the other apps can pull up in similar fashion to iOS. Hell, they could even release an iBooks counterpart for the Mac -- yes, please!

What about syncing? There could be a separate app made specifically for syncing the libraries of your Music, Videos, Podcasts, iBook, and iPhoto apps between your Mac and iOS device.

I recognize that Apple still has to cater to Windows users who use iOS devices. Maybe Apple should continue to provide iTunes for Windows.

I personally feel like breaking up iTunes into more focussed apps is better for users. What do you guys think?
