Imac 2011 16g ram upgrade 8g sticks???

Hey guys!
so i have a LATE 2011 iMac and purchased ram on a wim -_-
now i realized that im not sure if my imac will accept 8G sticks of ram?
according to apple the late 2011 imacs go upto 16 gigs of ram with 4gig sticks ...i already ordered 16 gigs on 2 sticks .....has anyone ever done this? any problems?
