I barely use any minutes and i barely text so whats the point in paying for unlimited calls or text when you dont use em.

I currentely have the 450min plan with AT&T and unlimited text. I have like 2,000+ rollover minutes and i send/receive less than 2,000 texts a month. I was thinking about downgrading my plan to less than 450min a month and same with text but these options no longer exist ever since they introduced the share everything plan. I dont need to share anything with anyone -_- What plan do you have?

My bill went down $10 by switching. -I actually gave up my grandfathered unlimited data package.

Looking at my bill. I pay $171 a month for 3 phones. 2 iphones, 1 basic. Unlimited Text and any mobile to mobile minutes. 700 minute plan.

I get a 15% discount due to my employer.

Calculating this:

6GB Mobile Share - $90
$35 smartphone
$35 smartphone
$30 basic phone

$190 total. After discount, around $178 as the discount is only on the $90.

So after taxes, it looks like I would pay $25~ more a month just to have this on my current setup but get unlimited talk/minutes and tethering free.

To me, that is a bit more than I wanted for $25 more a month. :/

so I don't know these shared data plans priced much. So it's $90 just for the data and $35 per iPhone (I have 2) to be on that data plan?

Yep. Exactly.

so $160 just for data for 2 phones!!! wow!!

So for 6GB, 2 iPhones and 3 dumb phones will cost me $250
Now I'm paying just under $200
I have 700 Mins, unlimited text, and data now but never gone over 400 between the 5 phones.

I don't see how it's because of greed. For some situations like mine, it saves me some money. For others it may or may not help. The more you put on the plan the more you save.

I do however have an issue with it being $30 for a dumb phone and on our family plan we can add one for $10..... in that way I guess you can call it greedy.

End thread. lol.

Ive got the lowest minutes (450) and texts (200) plans possible with "unlimited" data. Don't plan on giving them up easily.

Ditto, they'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands! :p

Still an SNSD fan I see? How about 2ne1?

I hear the mobiles and plans in North Korea are great. The international calling feature is restricted under penalty of death, but other than that...

You laugh, but I was there watching them use their dumphones. Couldn't tell the models.

If we give the telecom companies a bigger tax cut and reduce regulations, our bills will go down!

It's supply/demand economics at is best. They will continue to charge more as long as we're willing to pay more.

Not that I don't disagree with you, the cost of doing business has sky rocketed in almost all aspects. The consumer eventually ends up paying for it.

They know you aren't using minutes, that's why they want to give you unlimited. They know data is being used more everyday so they want to put caps on it and make it easier to add more devices to the plan along with free tethering to encourage more use on our tiered plan. They aren't doing what's in the customers best interest, they are doing whats in the best interest of their bottom line.

I have unlimited data on Sprint.

You have unlimited dial up speeds on sprint. Sorry I hate them so bad!! I just left them after a yr, because the service and data is plain crap.

Max unlimited on 4 sprint smart phones we never went over 4 gigs.

Imoved to ATT shared 10 gigs and lovign being back with them and good service quaility.

I'm not buffering 1080p HD videos so the speed is fine for my usage.

Saved me money as well. My wife and I had two individual plans because her employer paid for hers. By combining us into a new AT&T mobile share plan (and added a FAN discount that wasn't previously available), the resulting plan cost less than just her previous plan so we've essentially eliminated my plan altogether as her employer was fine including my phone if the resulting bill as cheaper. Saves us about $85/mo.

Lots more money, plain and simple. They know that people will be using more and more data. They market it as sharing to make it sound like people will save lots of money. Bah.
