Thought I'd give a quick report from Sony's IFA booth.
- Lots of Vitas lying around to play with:
First time I actually played one. Pretty cool, the display is awesome, and LBP played really well. Still gonna wait for the inevitable slim version though.
- Wonderbook playable demo:
I guess it works. Nobody seemed too excited about it...probably good for kids? The Eye really needs good lighting conditions to work properly, or the picture gets very noisy/grainy.
- LBP Karting playable demo:
This must have been an early version, the graphics looked very PS2ish. It looks like a very fun game though!
- Unfinished Swan playable demo:
Kinda neat to look at, but I'm not sure how much of an actual "game" is in there...splash some ink, walk a few steps, splash more ink, rinse, repeat...
It looks really cool though.
- GT5 playable setups with steering wheels & pedals:
Well, nothing terribly new here. We all know the game and how it works.
All in all, I was kind of underwhelmed. Nothing really exciting, to be honest.
