And.... can't you wait? Is a phone worth that much to you that you can't wait a month? Also, I'm inclined to believe your first source rather than your second source as having a call with a "Verizon rep" can be full of much BS.

I won't believe any of this until after the announcement, we will see. I just hope Sprint gets it at the same time everyone else does.

And cannibalize sales of existing iPhones for an entire month or even two? Not happening.

Not necessarily. Some people who don't need the latest and greatest wait for the new iPhone announcement so that the old one gets discounted. Even if the new one was delayed a month, I'd be willing to bet the price cuts on the older models would happen sooner. Yes, they would lose some sales, but they would also pick up those people who were waiting for the cheaper option.

Which is exactly why they would announce it closer to the release date not a month or two before. They have nothing to gain from doing that. It would lead to a messy launch and very un-Apple.

Based on past releases, I'm inclined to believe that the release will be soon after the announcement (same as what you're saying). However anything can still happen, so I'm keeping an open mind.

Have no fear ,Apple is not bringing a product to market without ample supply for the start-up. Of course if demand is off the charts, as it probably will be anythings possible . But I really wouldn't worry about what Verizon reps or ATT reps are saying.

It's a phone dude.

Not the end of civilisation as we know it.

Like already said step away from the net for a while.

Return and enjoy the journey !

Afraid? Is having a new mobile phone really that important to you?

I can think of a thousand things to be afraid of, but 'not getting a new cell phone for another two months' isn't on that list.

Just about everyone I know tried telling me there straight up would be no iPhone in 2011 because of the tsunami in Japan.

1. Sprint docs refer to "dealers," i.e., 3rd party sellers, not Sprint direct sales.

2. Regarding VZW rep: any front line phone rep is like a private in the army. The Generals only tell the troops plans on a need to know basis, and right now they have no need to know. But, like any organization, there are always those on the bottom that like to pretend they are "in the know." I'd disregard anything any front line phone rep says regarding a company's unpublished future plans.
