2048x2048 wallpaper recomendation

When you rotate the iPad, the screen rotates from 3x4 to 4x3, so having a 4x4 wallpaper is the right way.
The OP is right, if you have a square image then it looks far better when used in both orientations.
In reply to the original question, I am with you and would also like a 2048x2048 wallpaper

I have a lot of wallpaper apps on my retina iPad. The two that I highly recommend are Amazing Wallpapers HD and Retina Wallpapers 2048 for the new iPad. Both have tons of stunningly gorgeous wallpapers available for saving to your new iPad.
