Pre ordering through Verizon

I know this has probably asked dozens of times, but how good is pre ordering through my Verizon or Verizon? Do you get Your phone on launch, or is it like best buy where they have no no idea what there doing and take forever. I have heard pre ordering goes quick through Verizon, and I just want to hear Your experience with Verizon. Thank you.
