iPad Mini "Leaked" photos?

Hi. Not sure if anyone has posted this or not yet? If so please don't hammer me:p I found a link to a French site that supposedly shows an image gallery of the iPad Mini. Not sure if they are supposed to be mock-ups or images of the real thing? Anyway, I thought I would share. Once again my apologizes if this is a redundant post.

Maquette = Mock-Up

I think the same photos were posted on the MR front page.
 
No harm done, it's an honest mistake. I'm located in Canada, so I guess I have a bit more experience with French than the average MR reader.
 
It'll have a better fit and finish when it rolls out, but like the iPhone 5 … these leaked images are real as the come. They even show the new microphone hole on the backplate, just like on the new iPhone and touch.

I hope they make a black anodized version.

those aren't leaked images... it's a model, a mock-up of what it may look like.
there are no leaked images or parts on the net of an iPad mini anywhere at all.
All of them are either:
  • models
  • mock-ups
  • photoshops
  • cgi
  • iPad looking designed clone android tablet knock-offs from China
  • KIRFs
All announcements from the Wall Street Journel and Bloomberg are just the same circulating rumors.
Still as of today there is nothing substancial at all to suggest there is going to be an iPad mini on the market in 2012.

It's a mock up because I think the new iPad is a entertainment tablet, which will be used in a completely different setting to the original iPad , Apple will need make some mock-up's to get user feedbacks.

Apple could use the Oct event to announce a big cable company tie up, and this iPad mini could become your command center, and your Apple TV will be the airplay output device.

Why did the mock up appear on a French Internet site? Because the Europeans have been using internet for watching TV longer than us. Terrestrial TV have always been more popular there. After they've gone digital, their TV programs are all available on the Internet. Unlike, the US, the cable companies here are more reluctant to put the programs out on the Internet, because they control the last-mile into your home.

So Europe is the perfect test ground for a new Internet TV devices. Specially, the French loves Apple products.

Actually, judging by these and other mock-ups as well as rumors, there seems to be a number of differences between a full sized iPad and the purported iPad mini:

1) smaller dock connector (similar to recently revealed apple devices)

2) thinner side bezels (holding the smaller device in portrait mode, probably less chance of accidentally touching the screen)

Also the ergonomics in general appear to be different. The various iPad mini mock-ups and case leaks show a device that isn't quite as tapered as the larger models.

Im just sayin doe, if there were to be an ipad mini, it wouldnt look to different from a regular ipad ignoring the obvious fact that new pin connector, smaller size, most likely thinner... i mean did we not learn anything from these iPod/iphone releases?

There hasn't been not a single genuine leaked part. And to think... when it came to the iPhone virtually everything was leaked.

it came from an asian website first and was posted on the french canadian website later. if you must know... ;)
 
why they have to make an iPad mini, iPad size is just fine, they just need to make the edge thinner, don't you think?
