No way to gift apps?

Am I missing something obvious, or is there no way to make a gift purchase for apps in iOS 6?

No, not from within iOS. But you can on iTunes.

That’s bizarre. I wonder if the option will still be there in iTunes 11.

There’s no option to hide purchased apps now either.

I don't understand why this was taken out. I hate iTunes on the PC (never use it) and only ever gift apps via iOS. Kinda bummed that I can't do that anymore.

Apple doesn't appear to be done with the App Store yet.

If you check the "Charts" you'll see that they very recently pushed a new design to that portion of the store, you're not able to view app screenshots in full screen on an iPhone, can't view more than 5 reviews per app, and you can't delete apps from your "Purchased" list.

Perhaps they'll add the gift option before Friday.

Both app store and maps have a lot of remote data and control. Think of them as HTML5 web apps. IOS6 still isn't public, expect changing, and server switches through today and tomorrow when its expected to go live.
