iPod touch Synchronizing iPod not working.

Hello,
I have an iPod Touch 3g running iOS 5.1.1, and every time I synchronize it with iTunes, it just simply does nothing..
I have had this problem before, and the best way to deal with this seems to be restoring your iPod, however, I've always had that when I had restored my iPod that the problem occurred shortly after restoring it as well. My iPod IS jailbroken, however, but I'm not sure if that is the problem.
