Retina EFI Update

I see that there's a new Retina EFI Update available. One of the key things it is meant to cure is "an issue which can cause the system to hang".

I've been having several kernel panics with my rMBP (yes, I've got a call out with Apple on this - been a few weeks now!). I was wondering if anyone knew any more about what specific system hang was being resolved in this EFI update...?
 
I did the EFI upgrade, 10,8.2 upgrade and iPhoto 9.4 upgrades without any problems. The first time I opened iPhoto it said it needed to update the photo library. No problems.
