is it normal for the iPhone 5 to have some play (wiggle) in the power and volume buttons?

Very normal. My iPhone 4S has a very loose/wiggly power button. Works fine though.

Extremely loose out of the box. Some are just more loose than others. Its very annoying, but as long as the buttons work there shouldn't be a problem.

If I were to "shake" my 4S my loose sleep wake button rattles. But why would I shake it?
