So, I have a 2009 Macbook Pro. I upgraded the HD recently, and I am running Mountain Lion now. I just got a job from home that requires me to use my computer, but I have to be running Snow Leopard or Lion. No exceptions. I was hoping I could create a partition and install Snow Leopard back on that. I only have a Snow Leopard Disk or my original install disk which also came with Snow Leopard.

So, I created a partition in disk utility. But, I am having issues installing a different OS on it. I am sure I made some fundamental mistake here. I am not an expert at these things by any means. Can anyone help? When I put the Snow Leopard disk in, it tells me this version of OS X cannot be installed, etc. When I booted from the original start up disk, it just said it was taking me to the apple store to verify my purchase of mountain lion and install that.

Any suggestions?
