I understand the complicated reasons why the Lightning has to contain a chip to work with the 30 pin for audio/video and advanced applications. But couldnt' there be a $5 converter for those of us who just want to use the 5+ cables we already have for the 30 pin (bedside, couchside, car, office, etc) just to plug our new 5's into a wall and charge them outside any other use?
