So my 4S is being replaced tomorrow due to a technical issue.

A courier is coming to take away my old device and give me the new one.

I've done a backup to iCloud as the setting in iTunes is "Back up to iCloud". My contacts, calendars and email are all on an exchange, so I don't need to care about backing those up at all.

But I have two questions:

1. How do I thoroughly reset the iPhone (back to factory settings) so there is non of my personal information (picturs / documents etc) or apps with login information saved.

2. I have no idea how to use iCloud to "restore" the new device when it arrives. I'd very much appreciate some information, is it as simple as putting my Apple ID into the new iPhone and it does it automatically?

Thanks a lot for any encouragement and help, I dislike this greatly and have zero experience with doing it.

as long as you are not jailbroken go to Settings/General/Reset

hit erase all content and settings, you will have a clean 4S

When activating and seting up your new device it will ask if you want to restore from a backup, icloud or itunes, its that simple.

Agree with this.
