I have finally made use of iTunes match and its quite convenient. I do have three questions.
1: Can I get shed of the physical copies of my music and just stream my stuff from the cloud and reclaim the space on my hard drive?

2: When I buy new music, can just "put it in the cloud and not maintain a physcial copy on my hard drive

3: If I ever feel the need, can I download a copy of my music from the cloud to make a physical back up to store in my safe?

1: Yes. Once your library is synced with iTunes Match you can delete all Songs in your library, but make sure you don't check the "also delete in icloud" checkbox!

2: Yes, there must be an option somewhere saying "don't download when buying". In this case the songs will only appear with the cloud symbol in your library, meaning the will be streamed if used.

3: Yes, just click on the cloud symbol of the song you want do download.
