ipad for auditorium sound/lighting control

Does anybody know if it is possible to use an ipad to control auditorium systems such as soundboards, lighting, inputs, speakers, microphones, etc? And how I would go about getting the information for this? This is for a small school with a small 250 seat auditorium. Thank you

This is just part of the equation, the system itself need the appropriate interface to receive and respond to the signals.
