Hi there,

I'm a bit of a part time musician, and I was thinking about using Garageband on my 32GB new iPad to record demos and band rehearsals etc.

First question, what, in your opinion, is the best microphone to get for recording directly into iPad?

Secondly, if I was to set up a mic in the middle of our rehearsal room to record our practices, would I be able to record a two hour rehearsal? Would there be enough space (I have about 12GB left on my iPad currently, but I could get rid of some stuff)? Does Garageband set any limit to length of tracks?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm also interested in hearing any answers to this.

An additional question: for anyone wanting to record (a lot) of ideas and song sketches (also with the excellent FourTrack app) - what would be the minimum memory config for an iPad Mini? I'm thinking 8G would be way too small, but would 16 suffice? Or would that get eaten up way too fast?
