I am sitting here with the ipad next to the rMBP and I noticed that the MBP has a yellowish ting compared to the Ipad. I adjusted the screens to max and received the same results.
Is this normal?

got it, thanks I should have thought about that. Dang MBP is making me lazy. I would have gone there first on a win7 machine. Well I am still learning so thats me excuse and im sticking with it.
