So I own an iPad 3 64gb, and I'm thinking of selling it to purchase a new iPad with lightning connector along with an iPad mini. I own an iPhone 5 so I want all my devices to be able to use the same connector.

Am I crazy? Is anyone planning something similar?

Will Apple really come up with another new iPad in March next year, so soon after this update? I'm thinking they won't, and are permanently moving to this timeframe for future iPad updates.

If the new iPad has the A6 processor and shorter charging times I may consider it. However, if I can't sell my iPad 3 for a decent price then probably not. I definitely won't sell for just the new connector and a different screen though.

I already did...5mo ago. I owned every iPad and very rarely took it out of the house due to the size so for me it was "Mini or I give up".

Yes

The only way I will consider selling my current gen for the next generation is if they offer a 128GB version. Otherwise, I will stick with my current 64GB and skip generations as I usually do with iPads and iPhones.

Just sent mine back to Apple for a refund. Waiting for the Revised New iPad, hoping for an A6 upgrade.

My sis-in-law just bought the 3. I told she might have to turn it in next week. :apple:

This is one of the many benefits of having a wife and kids. If anything new is compelling enough for me to part with the cash, I roll my old equipment down and get the new toy for myself. I.e. With the iPhone 5 release, the wife and I both got upgrades, and my two youngest (5 and 7) had their 2nd gen iPod touches replaced with 16g iPhone 4's. No cell service on them, but they're thrilled and they use them regularly.

If the tweaked iPad is compelling enough, my wife will get my iPad 3, one of the kids will get her iPad 1, and dad will get the updated copy :) Everybody is happy and the wife doesn't even bust my chops over my gadget addiction.

If they were going to revise them, would there not be a "shortage" of the old model while they rampur production of the new model? That's what they normally do when something is about to be superseded....

I can't wait for the new "new iPad". The 3rd was a dissapointment for me because of it's weight and the fact that it got hot almost all the time. So I want a slimmer one, with less weight and maybe a better battery.

I have sold 2 of my the family iPad 3's and now have only my iPad 3 64gb 4G left which I use daily. If they get updated I will buy the same with updated connectors as the wife and I both have two iPhone 5's. So makes sense, if not I will simply go and buy two more iPad 3's and 2 minis.

No way, me loves my iPad 3 too much.

Might consider buying a iPad mini in addition just for the fun of it and I might even find a use for it - like my new car-iPad.

I'm still within my 30 day return period at best buy. I will likely return and get the updated one even if its just for the lightning connector.

Why do you need an iPhone, iPad mini, and iPad? Just wait for them to add new stuff to the iPad instead of switching just for the Lightning connector.
