Hi there, I'm having some strange issues with my mouse, want to get some opinions on this.

So I have:

- Macbook w/Retina, 2.3GHz, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD
- OS X 10.8.2
- Cyborg R.A.T. 7 mouse

Trying to play games like:

- GTA III
- Portal 2
- Serious Sam 3:BFE

Here's what I observe:

- Mouse + trackpad fine in normal OS use (desktop, apps, etc)

- GTAIII: Works perfectly on mouse/trackpad

- Portal 2: Works perfectly on trackpad. Soon as you plug the mouse in, it forgets the purpose of both the mouse and the trackpad, becoming mostly unresponsive (some clicks may get through)

- Serious Sam 3: No mouse, no trackpad. Nothing. Unresponsive.

This is bizarre. I DID have USB Overdrive installed (can't recall why). When USB Overdrive was installed:

- Mouse + trackpad fine in normal OS use (desktop, apps, etc)
- GTA III was the same (fine)
- Portal 2 was the same (problematic)
- Serious Sam 3 seemed to work fine, UNTIL you clicked the left mouse button. You had to hold the button down for the click to register. Right-click worked fine.

So I'd uninstalled USB Overdrive to try and resolve this mouse business and it seems to have made it worse.

Used the USB Overdrive uninstaller in the utilities folder. Kext is gone from system/library/extensions and I removed the prefpane so it's clean, right?

So what's going on??! :D
