I'm currently on OS X Mountain Lion, but I remember an item in the Service menu (after clicking on an application's name in bold in the menu bar) that would take the currently selected text and display it in large type until you clicked elsewhere.
I specifically remember Apple Store Geniuses would type a device's serial number and then use this service to re-display the serial number so they could check what they typed against the customer's device without needing to be too close to their MacBook Pro monitors.
Can anyone on Lion or Snow Leopard tell me if such a service exists, and how I might achieve similar functionality on Mountain Lion? Thanks!
