I bought an iPhone 5 from AT&T (with contract), and i will take it oversea next week.
Will my AT&T iPhone 5 Work abroad?

Where are you headed?

Anyways it should work anywhere that has GSM

If you want to use at&t sim card dont unlock. If you want to use some other sim card, yes unlock with unlock fusion. I used them and I am very happy
 
If you use your AT&T sim to roam there and make calls using your US number you dont need to unlock it.
If you want to use a local sim with a local phone number then you will need to unlock it with an imei unlock like you mentioned from ebay.
