I finally have most of my ducks lined up to get the best deals on my Apple product purchases. Will be ordering an iPad through AT&T. $50.00 off the regular retail and then another $100.00 for signing a 2 year data contract (I'd be getting a data contract anyway). $617.68 with tax for the 32 GB AT&T version. Not bad!

Next up is the Mac Mini. Will be getting the 2.3GHz i7 version. $799.00 through Apple and then I have a $45.00 off certificate. $754.00 and no tax because I'd pick it up in an Apple Store that is in a state that doesn't have sales tax. I was going to do the same with the iPad but coordinating that will delay things until one of the stores up there has them in stock. Plus, it's 100 miles each way so I'll live paying the $37.00 in tax. I'll also be getting a Magic Track Pad, monitor (have to pick one soon) and maybe doing some Christmas shopping so it will be worth the trip. Unless... I can find it cheaper somewhere else. Best Buy shows $799.00. It looks like Target used to sell them but they do longer do.

Any other recommendations on where to look?

When are you trying to buy it? If you want to save maybe $60-80, you could wait for it to be on the refurbished store. That's what I did for the i5 2.5 GHz Mac Mini.

I got mine from Best Buy along with an iPad Mini and a Dell S2440L monitor. Put it on 18 months no interest financing and am getting $85 back for the purchase in RZ credit, I had a Triple Point coupon. Best deal I could get. Amazon is tax free in some states that'll save you close 80 bucks alone and I'm betting in a month or 2 they'll sell the Mac Mini for 5-10% off retail.

I got my iMac last year for 1609 + 3 dollar next day shipping and sold the same iMac with an 4gb upgrade for 1625 the other day.

Sadly they tax in CA now. :(

Great job on getting the discounts, I thought mine would be good.

Through the company I work for, I can get the base mid quad 2.3 for 795 shipped. Considering doing that.

jr.com no tax except NY free shipping 5% off if you link with discover card.

' thankyou '

in the promo code gets you a 25$ gift card. so 799 minus 40 = 759 and a 25 dollar gift card.

The computer that I'm on now is really showing it's age. It's getting to the point where I click on some things and I watch tv for a few seconds or longer then things happen. So I'd like to replace it very soon. I'm kind of thinking tomorrrow. I found a site that lists Black Friday ads. I'm not seeing anything for discounts there.

iMacs and Mac Minis aren't as popular as tablets and phones so i don't think there I'll find much for discounts but will take a look at jr.com.

Are you opposed to buying used? I just bought a barely used 500 gig drive 2 gig ram 2011 mini from a pal for $400. Installed the 4 gig I swapped out of my MBP and it's quickly becoming the favorite machine in my home office.

That's what I did as well. Went used off eBay. Got a 2011 mini 2.3gz, with 128gb SSD and 8gb of ram, external super drive and external 500gb usb drive, all for $550.00.

This will be my first Mac so I rather go with the newest version available. I've been looking for a long time. I was going to go with the Mac Mini earlier in the year then the 27" iMac and then, after much more research, found that even though the iMac will look really sexy sitting on my desk, I'm better off with the Mac Mini so I've waited until the new ones were released.

Great choice. I wanted to go iMac for sometime but, I decided I didn't really need it. I have a 23" ACD that I connect my Macbook to when I'm at home. I only want to get the mac mini so I can run it headless as a HT server (and run ML Server on it). (Cable business class at home helps for learning. :p)

BTW, your sig have iMac Mini. It's just Mac Mini. :)

I would wait until BF and buy it from Amazon or Mac Mall (Apple also may price match from an authorized reseller if you're super keen on getting it from the Apple Store). You'll likely save $30-40 and thus can use your gift certificate for accessories or whatever.
