I'm coming back to using an iPhone, and would like to know other's thoughts on what would you buy ? Carrier is going to be AT&T:eek: because I am still in contract till November and have the unlimited data plan but thats kinda worthless considering they cripple you after you reach a certain amount of data already downloaded

Buy and iPhone 4s or 5 ?

Thank you

I would get the 5. It's a much faster experience overall, LTE, the phone runs more quickly, smoother overall.

If you buy the phone w/o subsidy, can you keep your unlimited plan?

I agree the 5 is nicer, but it comes with it's own set of issues. Make sure you take a look at the device while in-store for scratches and scuffs prior to making a purchase.

What I, or anyone else, would buy is irrelevant. You need to buy based on your needs/wants/priorities.

Have you compared the features and specs? What's your budget? Why are you considering the 4s?

There are people who claimed that they went through many (in one post, 5) copies and still haven't found a perfect copy.

I found that hard to believe, but those are the claims. On the other hands there are probably millions of others who never voiced their complain, so either they don't care about minute scratches or their eye sight are not good.

Personally, if I am concern about this issue I would take a quick look at the phone in the store.

I went from a iP4 to a iP5 and the size different is striking: larger screen, thinner, lighter, much faster. I would skip the 4s.

Some dude over at the Apple forums said he went through 11 iPhone 5's and had issues with them all. A number like 11 seems insane to me, but that's the number he's giving. I was impressed he had the audacity to go back to the Apple Store on 11 different occasions. But if he's not happy, then I guess that's his right. I am now shooting for a brand new device straight from China. No more white-box refurbs for me, thank you very much.

Wow, 11!

I can't think of a physical object that I would go through that much trouble for, and I am a perfectionist.

No kidding. I would have pulled the plug long before getting to a number that high. Last I spoke to him he was fed up and giving up on the iPhone altogether. If what he says is true, and he had 11 defective units given to him by Apple, then I can't say I blame him.

I have unlimited, however AT&T slows me down all the time because I watch allot of netflix.

My budget could allow for an 5 but after playing and checking them out at the apple store it honestly did not do a thing for me at all. RadioShack has the 16gig 4S for 424.00 I believe thats unlocked I believe. I'm also out of contract in November and contemplating moving to Verizon or maybe TMobile so thats another factor to figure in.

Imagine what his carrier see's when looking at his account? Also I thought Apple was limiting people on returns? It happened at the store here although that was a few years back but they just got fed up and limited people.

I'm giving the whole situation another look and heading to the Apple store this weekend when they open and its not packed with people, then again I may just hit the local Radio Shack, as for buying the I5 model its the size I'm not happy with. Also noticed at the store that there demoing the phones without sim's in them
