Like most in here, I got the iPhone 5 now. And it looks great. It feels great, and its very fast. However, a friend of mine just bought a brand new iPhone 4.

Long story short, I pushed him aside, tore the protective film of the front, and maaan, that feeling. That feeling is unmatched. And I kinda miss it.

What? lol

I use my 4S as an mp3 player for my car and I do love the feel of it. But after using larger screens, I could never go back to 3.5"!

The iPhone 4/4S feel like a brick, the iPhone 5 feels like a soft wood.
I like a soft wood more then a hard brick.
I know it's sounds weird, but this is the truth...

I like the size of the iPhone 5 but I do miss the weight of the 4/4S though.

i5 form factor with 4/4S weight would be great IMO.

I feel sorry for the friend who never got to take the protective film off him/herself.

I understand the OP. It isn't about logic- of course the iP5 "wins" yet on an emotional level- the feel and slight heft of the iP4S and the overall smoothness of the OS makes for a lovely presentation and a wonderful iPhone to handle.

It's getting to the point where anything lighter and thinner will make it feel cheap.

The iPhone 4(S) was a solid device you use as a weapon in self defense. Design wise, I like it over the 5 as well.

I'm amazed at how some of you guys trash whatever the last device was and herald the new device as now being perfect. Regardless of it's issues. You should go back and read all your endless praise for the 4/4S. You're embarrassing yourselves.

Yeah every previous device makes them . But you gotta enjoy "latest and greatest" even if its the same thing lol.

No.

The 4/4S had over two years and it basically the phone was past it. The glass black got boring most wanted a steel back right after the Iphone 4. The camera should have always been centred for Facetime but that now happens on Iphone 5. The Brushed aluminum is much nicer. It maintains the silent home key, home button and usual shape so what's the problem? Plus it's a larger nicer thinner phone?

Iphone 4/4S was fit for 2010 and 2011 but time has moved on.

Good job completely misunderstanding the post. I don't want an iPhone 4. Heck, I'd take a galaxy over it. But the feel the iPhone 4 had in 2010/11 was, in my opinion, way better than what the iPhone 5 has today.

I agree. I LOVE my iPhone 4. A few friends have the iP5 and it feels too light for me. I miss the solid feel of the 4.

Nope. That's the problem. 4S is a great phone. But somehow apple freaking makes it look like a brick.

The metal back of the 5 feels a little weird when texting or playing games. The 4 was smoother, felt nicer.

The speed makes up for it, though.

iPhone 4S: 4.50 X 2.31
iPhone 5 : 4.87 X 2.31

That extra .37 of an inch the iP5 sports turns the iPhone4S into a brick?

You left out two important factors besides the pointed out.

Thickness & weight.
